Sesame Seeds:
Sesame seeds are one of the most popular seeds in the world. Owing to its high-quality oil
besides high content of protein (22.0%) it is described as the queen of oil crops. In Pakistan,
it grows in about 65 districts as irrigated as well as a rain crop. It grows in the provinces of
Punjab, Sindh, NWFP, and Baluchistan. The cultivation season of sesame is SUMMER and WINTER, the
best sowing time is 15th June to 15 July. The seed rate for cultivation of Sesame is 1.5-2
kg/acre. Its oil content ranges from 50-58%. it contains approximately 47 percent oleic acid and
39 percent linoleic acid.
